Hillswoods involvement with the Welsh Ponies began in 1982 after purchasing the little Section A Stallion Twilight Pinnacle and two mares. While at the Victorian All Welsh in 1996 our attention was drawn towards the Cobs.We were so taken by their size and wonderful temperament that it was decided to start looking for one to show. Our search took us to the Late Sue Walsh of Acheron Stud where our first two mares were purchased. This became the foundation of our stud.

Hillswood is a small stud situated approx 18kms north of Warragul in the rolling hills of West Gippsland. Our mares and foals have the advantage of grazing on rich fertile country that provides good quality feed producing strong well grown young stock. The studs goal has been to use the best bloodlines available focusing on quality, type and temperament. We are proud of our achievements & will continue to strive towards producing Welsh Cobs equal to those in Wales.
